Welcome

My Laboratory focuses on body weight and metabolism regulation after bariatric surgery in rodents, specifically Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) and sleeve gastrectomy (SG). We have developed a reproducible model of RYGB and SG in mice that recapitulate most of the effects of those surgeries on body weight, body composition, fecal calories, glucose homeostasis and lipid metabolism of human subjects. We have applied this surgical technique to genetic muose models in order to investigate molecular mechanisms of those bariatric surgeries.
