Welcome

Our Lab is particularly interested in understanding the role of the gut-brain axis in mediating energy signals to regulate energy and glucose metabolism. With a focus on obesity and diabetes, we employ innovative translational tools such as neurophysiology tracking, autonomic neuron manipulation, and genetic mouse models of obesity. We also developed rodent model of several bariatric surgeries to better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying these procedures. Our clinical background in gastroenterology and obesity medicine combined with our training and expertise in neurobiology allows us to identify clinical and translational gaps in understanding the pathophysiology of obesity, type 2 diabetes , fatty liver disease and potential opportunities for their management.
